Cancellations & Short Notice

Updated: Jan 9

We get it, life happens and things change. It's important that we're able to take care of our clients and our sitters; this policy helps ensure fairness for all.

We hate to turn clients away because of a full schedule, but it does happen. We're unlikely able to fill your spot if you cancel at the last minute, and the client who was turned away has lost out on reliable pet care. One or two canceled visits don't seem like a lot, but it adds up if several clients cancel the same week.

Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellations made with one week (7 days) notice or less will be invoiced at 25%.

  • Cancellations made with 72 hours notice or less will be invoiced at 50%.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours notice or less will be invoiced at full price.

  • A visit rescheduled for a different day is considered canceled.

  • If a pet sitter arrives at your home for a scheduled visit and you are home (or someone from your household is home) and do not need your scheduled visit, you will be invoiced at full price.

  • If you are away on your trip and come home early, you will be invoiced in full for the remaining visits. This allows the assigned sitter(s) to be paid for their canceled visits.

Holidays
  • Cancellations that include the holidays (listed below) require one week's (7 days) notice and will be invoiced in full (100%) for the entire trip.

  • Holidays included: New Year's Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, the week of spring break, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, the week of fall break, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Short Notice
  • The cutoff time for visit requests in Time to Pet is 72 hours; please contact Amy directly during office hours to check availability.

  • Short notice requests made within 72 hours or less are subject to a fee of $5 per visit ($25 max).

  • Short notice requests made for the same day are subject to a fee of $10 per visit.

  • If you are away on your trip and need to extend it, each added visit is subject to a short notice fee.
