FAQ
-
Do you board dogs in your home or a facility? At this time, we do not offer boarding in our home or facility as The Dog's Pajamas is built on keeping pets happy and comfortable in the familiarity of their own home.
-
What kind of pets do you care for?We care for all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and other small pets. If you're curious whether we can provide care for your unique pet, get in touch and we'll let you know!
-
Do you take last minute requests? For new clients, two weeks is required to allow for enough time to schedule the meet and greet. For current clients who we have already met and have keys or house access codes, we will take last minute requests as the schedule allows. Last minute fees may apply.
-
Do you charge per pet?We do not charge for pets, as that can make pet sitting visits pretty expensive (we get it!). Our visits are instead based on the time we spend at your home. We offer 30, 45 or 60 minute visits as well as overnight visits (subject to availability). Learn more information about our services here.
-
Do you pet sit on holidays? Weekends?Yes and yes! We make visits 365 days a year. The holidays, along with spring, summer and fall breaks, are our busiest times, so please be sure to make your reservations as far as in advance as possible so we can accomodate you!
-
Do you stay overnight?Yes! Overnight visits are scheduled from 9pm to 7am and are subject to schedule availability. A meet and greet is required prior to confirmation.
-
When do I pay? Do you require a deposit?Invoices are emailed to you after you return home from your trip with 15 days to pay. For regularly scheduled dog walking clients, invoices are emailed on the first day of the month for last month’s visits. We do not require deposits at this time. Cancellation fees may apply depending on the timing of your cancellation. Click HERE to view our cancellation policy.
-
Is there a cancellation policy? When we book your pet sitting services, we have reserved exclusive time for your and your pets and have likely turned away other clients during this time. You can view our cancellation policy HERE.
-
What is Time To Pet?Time to Pet is our all-in-one pet care portal. Using Time To Pet, you can update your info, update your pet’s info, pay your invoices, request, change, or cancel pet sitting visits, etc. As part of using your client portal, you'll also receive a report card after each visit, so you can see how your pet did with us and receive a pic or two, as well!
-
What is your service area?We service clients in Richmond, Centerville, and Hagerstown, Indiana. We do a lot of driving. A lot! Our service area is kept small to ensure clients receive the best care and that our sitters don't spend more time driving than caring for pets. Not sure if we come to you, don't hesitate to ask!
-
Which sitter will come to my house? There are many factors in play when it comes to who will be assigned to your pets. Your location, dates of service, other scheduled clients, and the level of care required for your pets are all taken into consideration when choosing which sitter is best for you. Most of the time two sitters will be assigned, sometimes three, depending on the length of your trip. If it is a sitter who did not attend the initial meet and greet, a staff training visit will be scheduled so one sitter (who has been to your home and know your pets) will be assigned to train the new sitter.
-
Do I get to meet my sitter? One of the benefits of hiring The Dog's Pajamas is that we work as a team. We all know that life happens and our sitters are there for each other in the event of an emergency. We do our best to keep the same pet sitter assigned to your pets, but the rotation of sitters might be necessary due to the length of your vacation or sitter availability. With enough notice, an additional meet and greet can get pretty costly if you need to meet your sitter each time you travel.
